What Is Marching Band or Color Guard?

Marching Band is a competitive musical sport, providing a performance avenue for students at competitions which are held throughout Lee County, the state of Florida and the nation. 

We compete against other schools with bands of similar size in Florida School Band, in parades and field show competitions held with the goal of winning Florida Marching Band Championships.

Our appearances place our band and guard in the public spotlight, where they serve as musical ambassadors and are the face of Ida S. Baker High School and the music department.

In tandem with the competition season, the Marching Band and Color Guard will perform their field show at all football games, giving the general public a chance to experience our competition program.
